A group exhibition celebrating fifteen female artists from the Pop Surrealist and Urban contemporary art movement. Working in underground art movements primarily dominated by men, these women have created a name for themselves as independent, talented artists working with new mediums, ideas and concepts. Individually they have influenced the overall direction of contemporary art, as a group they have changed the way women are viewed and accepted in urban culture today. Charities; RSPB, RNLI, British Red Cross, Kinder Mountain Rescue and North West Air Ambulance. All entry money will be collected and equally divided between the Charities at the end of May. Eight acres of Gardens with Rhododendrons, Acers, Magnolias, unusual trees, shrubs and perennials in the Peak District National Park. A peaceful wooded valley full of bird song and blue bells. Light refreshments will be available on the Charity Open Days or you can bring a picnic.

LAZLO BABY – A four piece band on their first folk train coming to us from a regular spot at the Ring O’ Bells in Marple playing foot stomping gypsy/balkan music with sprinklings of pirate and zombie. This band have been running ’Acoustic Soup’ – a successful open mic and gig night in Stockport for over 2 years. They will be playing on the train from Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop where they will then play at Glossop Labour Club, We return to Manchester with music all the way. Another new walk starting from the recently refurbished and reopened Badger. From the pub this 3.3 mile walk heads south to cross the River Weaver and the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal before circling to rejoin the canal before passing through Eardswick Wood onto Cross Lane for the return to the Badger. There are about 6 stiles on the walk: one or two are tricky to negotiate.
